Investigation after teenager is discovered with gun shot wound in Newtown

We want to inform you about an incident that happened on Newtown Row last night.

At around 10.30pm, a teenager was discovered with a gun shot wound. It’s understood he was shot at the nearby park by Porchester Street.

The 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or changing.

We're carrying out a range of enquiries - including a thorough review of CCTV - to establish exactly what happened and who was involved.

We understand how concerning this will be and we've increased patrols in the area.
